Eastern Caribbean Rum Co An identity refresh for a West Indies classic

THE CHALLENGE

The Eastern Caribbean Rum Co. approached us with a unique request: to create a cohesive visual identity for their umbrella company, which encompasses three distinct rum brands. This project demanded a deep dive into the essence of Grenada and the Grenadines, aiming to embody the spirit of these locations across all brand aspects. Our comprehensive strategy included brand design, visual identity, film, and photography, alongside creative direction and strategic planning, to ensure a unified and compelling identity that would resonate across their diverse rum offerings.

IDENTITY

For the Eastern Caribbean Rum Co.'s identity, we were inspired by a piece of history - an old hand-painted sign on the distillery's wall. This authentic element became the cornerstone of our design process, guiding us in crafting a visual identity that not only pays homage to the brand's rich heritage but also connects it to a modern audience. This approach allowed us to blend tradition with contemporary design, creating a unique identity that tells a story of heritage, craftsmanship, and the spirit of the Caribbean.

Capturing the narrative of the Eastern Caribbean Rum Co.'s multi-generational master blender, our project evolved into an extraordinary sailing journey through the Grenadines. This adventure allowed us to authentically document the deep-rooted heritage and expert craftsmanship that go into their rum, showcasing not just the product, but the passion and tradition behind it, through both the blender's personal story and the stunning backdrop of the Caribbean.
