Rene’s Fresh Lobster Delivery

I will never forget the mornings at Sandy Island when Rene, the Carriacou fisherman, pulled up beside the boat with a grin and a bucket full of lobster he had just caught. You leaned over the rail with wide eyes, watching the bright shells shine in the sun as he lifted them for you to see. There was always something exciting about those mornings. They felt fresh and easy, like the start of a good day.

Some of my favorite moments came later, when we cooked the lobster on the beach or grilled fresh fish by the water. The air filled with smoke and sea spray, and the three of us worked together without even thinking about it. Seeing you grow up at sea, learning where your food came from and how to enjoy it with your own hands, warmed my heart in a way I still feel now.
